Launch Dates
“Paul” / Facilitator Meetings — The week of February 2nd (e.g., Thursday, Feb 5th, 6:30 am & Friday, Feb. 6th, 6:30 am). This is just for the discipleship group facilitators (“Pauls”).
1st "Everyone" Week — The first gatherings for everyone in the discipleship group start the week of February 9th (e.g., Thursday, Feb 12th, 6:30 am & Friday, Feb. 13th, 6:30 am). We’ll go through the “Ten Things to Help You Get Started on the Discipleship Journey” article. The following week we'll start working through and discussing the books.
Tracks & Materials
We have three track options. We encourage guys to do the Discipleship Essentials track if they don’t have a strong preference for one of the other ones. Go to djourney.org/tracks to get an overview of all three options. All three incorporate the Discipleship Journey Guidebook (see below).
If you’re able to cover the cost of books for your discipleship partners, that’s great. Otherwise, order copies and collect money. We’ll provide calendar bookmarks for the track you choose when you come the first week to a Mike Duffy’s hub. Or, if you’re meeting elsewhere, contact us for help getting bookmarks.
Order copies of Discipleship Essentials (2019 version) for the Discipleship Essentials track.
Order copies of New Morning Mercies for the New Morning Mercies track. We also recommend printing copies of the New Morning Mercies response pages at least for the first few weeks.
For the Behold track, participants need a Bible and a Behold bookmark (see above). We also recommend printing copies of the Behold response pages at least for the first few weeks.
Discipleship Journey Guidebook
We use the Discipleship Journey Guidebook to encourage discussion of key aspects of being a disciple and disciple-maker and facilitate taking next steps in everyday life. We discuss it every fourth week.
We’ll order copies for those who sign up for one of our St. Louis hubs. Or, if you’re meeting elsewhere, contact us for help getting guidebooks.
